Oh My Nails – A Boutique Nail Salon for VIP’s in Owing Mills, Maryland

Melanie, the owner of Oh My Nail’s in Owing Mill’s, Maryland, started doing nails in 2019. She always enjoyed painting her friend’s fingernails and toenails in high school.   Melanie opened Oh My Nails in 2019.  She has been licensed for almost 4 years, and she’d been listed in the Black Girls Do Nails – Nail Tech Directory for 3 years.  Oh My Nails is accepting new clients.

What types of services do you offer at Oh My Nails?

We offer manicures and pedicures. I am a CMP so I work with podiatrists if it is beyond my scope. I am trained to work with clients who are diabetic. I still make sure that they are keeping up with their doctors appointments especially if there is an issue.

My biggest achievement has been opening my own nail salon.

I consider wellness pedicures to be my speciality. There aren’t a lot of pedicurists in my area performing these types of pedicures. It is my favorite pedicure to do. I am passionate about helping people get transformational results when performing a wellness pedicure. I love bringing a smile to a client’s face when they thought that their foot care issues were hopeless.

Don’t let anyone tell you that your dreams are too big or limit your capabilities to a certain timeframe.

What do you think is the biggest misconception about Black Nail Techs?

We don’t do feet. We charge higher prices and provide poor service.

What are your favorite nail products to use? And why? How do they compare to the other products you’ve used?

I enjoy using Dazzle Dry. It is unlike any other product on the market. I also love using Footlogix.
